AURA is a small, personally run practice, and this page is written to actually be read: it covers what data this site touches, why, and what you can do about it.

This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify). Like any web host, AWS automatically processes technical information for every visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request, to keep the service secure and running. This sits in server logs for a short time and is not linked to your identity by us.
This site does not use cookies, and does not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. The only thing stored in your browser is your language choice (English or German), saved locally on your device so we do not ask again on your next visit. This is not personal data, is never sent to us, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.
Filling out the contact form opens your own email app with a message addressed to monika@aura-cologne.com, pre filled with what you entered. That data goes straight from your device to my inbox through your own email provider, not through this website’s server. It is kept for as long as needed to answer you and, where relevant, to provide what you asked about.
If you sign up to the AURA newsletter, your name and email address are sent to MailerLite, the email service AURA uses to send journal posts and updates. MailerLite is based in the EU. Your data is only used to send you the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe any time using the link in every email. See MailerLite’s own privacy policy for how they handle your data on their end.
Some pages link out to Calendly (for booking a call), Luma (for event registration), and social platforms like Instagram. Once you click through, you are on their site, governed by their own privacy policy rather than this one.
Under the GDPR, you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy of it in a portable format. To use any of these, email monika@aura-cologne.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, in Germany typically the one for North Rhine Westphalia.
Data is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, for example while an email conversation is ongoing, or until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.
This policy may be updated from time to time as the site or its tools change. The version here is always the current one.
